À propos de l'auteur Abdulrazak Gurnah
Abdulrazak Gurnah est un romancier et universitaire tanzanien. Né à Zanzibar (aujourd'hui partie de la Tanzanie) en 1948, il est arrivé au Royaume-Uni en 1968 en tant qu'étudiant.
Il est reconnu pour ses romans qui explorent les effets du colonialisme et le destin des réfugiés entre les cultures et les continents. En 2021, il a reçu le prix Nobel de littérature pour son œuvre. L'Académie suédoise l'a distingué pour sa "pénétration intransigeante et compatissante des effets du colonialisme".
Gurnah a été professeur d'anglais et de littératures postcoloniales à l'Université du Kent, où il a enseigné jusqu'à sa retraite. Il a écrit de nombreux romans, nouvelles et essais. Parmi ses œuvres les plus connues figurent "Paradise" (nominé pour le Booker Prize) et "By the Sea" (finaliste du Los Angeles Times Book Prize).
